Always Or Forever?

He always insisted ‘Always’,

While she settled for ‘Forever’,

Their fights took them apart, only to bring them together.

They were just the Best of Friends,

But a Couple others believed,

They hardly cared enough of what others perceived.

He promised to be around as he did ‘Always’,

She made silent promises with ‘Forever’ embraced,

In these ‘eternal’ words their friendship aced.

The friendship gave rise to jealousy of the judgmental,

He knew they’d surpass it all,

She confided he wouldn’t let her fall.

Engulfed in the waves of friendship, love and passion,

A turbulence of emotions swayed through,

What happened too quickly seemed untrue.

Moments and memories later, they’re drifted away,

Finding solace in things rather than each other’s presence,

Relations were changing and so was the essence.

The most desired friendship of eternal faith,

That He and She very preciously helmed,

Now the definitions have of those same words changed for them.

While he still insists on ‘Always’,

She pins her hopes in ‘Forever’,

The twist is with them being replaced in life of each other!
