He Wins

I know you love me,

But so does he, I know he always will.

You’ve shown me your care,

But because of him, I am carefree.

I know we are too close, we share so many things,

But he was the first to know so much more.

You’ve seen me fall and rise,

But he was the first to even see my silent cries.

You’ve seen me in sadness and been in my happiness,

But he taught me those very words with kindness.

You guide me while crossing roads,

He helped me make choices at several crossroads,

I know we have kissed,

But he was the first and you’ve no idea how much that peck is missed.

You keep telling me you love me,

But he has been showing it.

Oh boy! Don’t even try to compete 'coz you’ll never beat,

For you’re just a guy, He is after all my Father you can’t defeat!
