Questions for the Emotion

Reading here consistently you must've figured out what a cynic I am when it comes to love. But this is out of plain observation. One thing that gets on my nerves is the desperation felt by people to be loved. 90% of the people will express they love you only so that they hear it back. Why? Be happy na with the fact that you love someone.
I do not want to flaunt but I am happily among the rest 10%, who will not say it back if I do not mean it. Also that mean, that even if I mean it I won't say it.
Go find someone else to apply cream for your desperate measures of love. Before that if you've read this much, how about reading the small poem below? Thanks ha. :)

Why is there so much desperation for love?
Much of an over-emotive feeling,
Why can’t people be simple anymore?
The expectations not to be expected soar.

What is this force that makes people blind?
Swaying away faster than a wind,
All of a sudden out-pour of feelings grew?
Making the other person fall for you.

Who brought this idea of forever?
People clearly forgot about their interests,
Why does the feeling get that much importance?
My idea of it changes at every instance.

How can you assure things won’t change?
Such a strong foresight to possess,
Have you seen you together tomorrow?
Maybe they’ll walk away in your sorrow.

Do you still believe in fairy-tales?
A small logical inspection of own is enough,
Do you say “I Love You” just to get it back?
If yes, clearly that’s where you lack!
