Tassu ka Birthday Gift! :D

So Tassu is one of the few Namunas in my life. This is the poem I wrote for her last year for her birthday. Unfortunately it has been just with me. This year, I make it available on the public domain, since she has been asking for it from last year. This is really silly but friend k liye itna toh kar hi sakte hai! My little effort to make you feel special on your day. 

On the eve of an important paper tomorrow,

I write something for you to forget my sorrow,

Sorrow of what you wonder?

Well, I’m failing tomorrow!

I can’t register any Indian Regional Journalism,

Now wondering what line to write here with skepticism,

Here I come up with a new word- originalism,

I’m really sucking at this so indulge in some Lolism!

Parallel thoughts of your birthday and paper run in my mind,

Proper answers to write tomorrow I really can’t find.

So I take a pen and start to scribble,

If I don’t give you a poem today, I’d be in trouble!

As I read the Bengali press through pages,

I realise you’ve become a friend I’ve known since ages,

I think the above 2 lines made a really good rhyme,

The way we have been grown as friends, we can even be partners in crime!

This may not be a great piece of writing,

Get back to studies my mind is fighting,

But but it is your birthday today,

And dedicating something to you won’t happen every day!

Now the next 3 lines for you my dear,

In these 3 years your presence is not just mere,

For all your lameness I may not always cheer,

At times you make me smile to tears!

Now I stop, this is too long,

More if I continue might make a song,

Tassu wish you Many Happy Returns of the Day,

I’m expecting a few praises from you to say!!
