Do Not Follow Me To...
I have taken the road which could lead to a dead end,
I will choose to walk on it, no matter the dirt and muck,
If I am running, let me run, I will go not away, let’s hope…
Do not follow me…
But I know I will want you to hold my hand, without even
actually holding,
I need not always turn around to look if you’re there,
But even if I shout with my head straight ahead,
Be my confidence that I’ll receive an echo.
Do not follow me…
Not to show others you were there,
Or to get a social approval for a relation which may never evolve,
I am going to lead myself without you as a reason,
To ever hold me back.
Do not follow me…
Unless you’re too afraid to lose me,
But mind you, I may have been prepared to lose it after all,
When I proceeded to walk away on a crossroad,
Which was an effing difficult choice mate.
Do not follow me…
I may want to head back but I cannot fail,
Let me tread, sprint, fall or crawl,
But if at every instance I’ve thought only of you,
I’ll head back to follow you too!
