Trust Issues

This is something I've penned down in not more than 20 minutes. It is World Poetry Day and I thought of making a quick contribution. Not a brilliant piece of poetry but thought of sharing it nonetheless.

A seemingly small word but such heavy weight,
Before getting into it, actually wait,

Verify the souls you’re going to believe in,
It’s a very sugar coated reality we live in,

People will come and win you over,
You trusted them enough and before you realise it’ll be over,

Loyalty is what you seek in dogs better than people now,
They’ll promise just as easily to break the vow,

The reasons you never know and questions you never ask,
The answers you can't digest and put on a 'fine' mask,

A trustworthy person carries his own charm,
But mistrust weeps and there lies your harm,

Don’t win my love, chase to win my trust instead,
For love is just an emotion but with trust alongside it'll take you to bed.

PS: The last line has a context which if you've not understood, stay away.!
