Love as an analogy
I have been cynical about the term Love. I think it is over-hyped. Just a random thought gave an analogy between love and a candle. This poem is an outcome of that random analogy gone too far.!
Love is like a
candle; it illuminates,
Illuminates you
to the troubles you were less likely to face,
To the false
reasons you were less likely to make,
Being in love
is like lighting a candle, it gives warmth,
While you feel
it, it melts away,
Some living in
the illusion it was forever to stay,
Burning away
but giving light,
A candle proved
to be an inspiration for some,
May your
love-story at least be for one.
Maybe in some universe electricity is jealous of the candles,
Love has the ability to create the same through scandals.
On a little further
step it glows in the dark,
Your love has
apparently caused a spark.
Be not like the
candle, to be remembered only when it’s dark.
Do not get to
close to the flame, it burns,
In love,
practical thoughts emotionally churn.
A candle
eventually burns out and leaves a little wax,
You could try
moulding it again,
Just cherish
your love memories and not the pain.
