A Memorable Trip. :')

The train chugged at exactly 4.55 pm from Nizamuddin station and there was a realization that we were going back home. Among the initial chaos of seat numbers and not being able to sit with your immediate friends, one thought kept coming back- Industrial visit coming to an end. On the return journey we recalled all the fun of the past 7 days, among the Best days of our life.

We started on 30th September and the excitement began as soon as we sat in the train and found our boggie. With photographer friend in our group a photo-shoot was just about to start. Then began the usual Antakshari eventually turning into randomly singing all the songs right from groovy ones to old classics. Well, old songs I feel are still any day better. There is a different rhythm to them. A lot of fun followed on board.

The next day the actual journey started as we were heading to Jim Corbett. It almost took us an entire day to reach there. The hotel was nice with spacious room and a great lawn. I spent some time walking on the dew-covered grass and as you look up in the sky you see the sky adorned with stars. It’s a rare sight in the city today and forming shapes and symbols from the stars, no better passage of time.

What we didn’t see coming next day was heading directly to Nainital. In the afternoon we left for Nainital and within 4 hours we were in a heavenly place! Nainital is Beautiful. I repeat, Nainital is simply beautiful. As the bus rode through the steep roads and took edgy turns we could feel as we are passing through sky. You see nothing ahead of you then just clouds and feel the coolness of the breeze. Wow what a feeling! What’s better even more, put on your earphones and hear Barfi! songs. Even more amazing. As I recall this I miss the place.

The hotel we were boarding in Nainital was cherry over the cake. Balrampur Heritage Palace, a place which connected us to the heritage giving the archaic feeling. What added to glory of my group was getting the biggest room in the palace. The palace treated us like royals with delicious food every day and sumptuous breakfast every morning. This was even better than home. The scenic beauty behind and nature’s variety of flowers around made it a heavenly experience. It was even better because we were with our best friends and best classmates.

Those 2 days of sheer fun, bonding, singing, and wildness (literally) cannot be forgotten. The boating in the Naini lake, shopping in the Tibetan market and having momos on a cold night added to my blissful experience. The pictures clicked, games played, secrets spilled, small tiffs and the amount of laughter made me feel like Life was at a good point. No desire of going back, no desire of going ahead.

Back into Corbett, it was a day for jungle safari and adventure sports. Jungle safari may not be as wild as we expected it to be but definitely worth it. Standing in the jeeps, letting the breeze mess your hair and going through the dense forest is not what you would get to do every day. A feeling of satisfaction and “Ude khwabon ke parindey” from ZNMD washed over me. Yes seriously.

The adventure sports were one more moments to be cherished especially the Free-Fall. Jump off the bridge into the cold water. Though not from a great height, but being in air for that fraction of time is over-whelming. No fear, no inhibition, only excitement. With a love for adventure I was already up for it. As I swung my body away, I was pleased and dashed into the water with an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. I feel like doing it again, Right Now.

The more I write about it the more disoriented I feel. I was missing my family and friends here but I wouldn’t mind spending a few more days there. Coming back to normal routine now seems a task. The jingle antakshari (yes we played that too), dumbsheras, making maggi in the train at night, staying up late just to gossip, knowing each and everyone better doesn’t happen every day right? The last industrial visit was the best industrial visit. Period.
