When mind races...
I’d picked up another girl and cootchie-coo’d her until your Nani remarked, see the label that’s not your daughter!! Then I went and got you and you were so small!!” He exclaimed. I heard this anecdote and just laughed. It was amusing to know that my dad in his ecstasy of becoming a father picked up another girl thinking it was me.
I’ve heard of this more than once, and its funny every time; until one day my thoughts Flew.
What If I went to some other home and someone else took my place?? The thought at first sounds fascinating until you realize it’s not what you would silently even be anticipating. There are just too many possibilities that could’ve happened.
- I would’ve an all together new identity. A different name, surname, religion, values, environment to grow within.
- A different place to stay probably in some different part of world by now or not even have a roof at all.
- I would probably be speaking some different language, worshipping some different God, visiting other place of worship or even would be an atheist.
- Then come the fearful ones- a different School, a different college. NOO, I loved my school. I have had my memories which I can always cherish in Shreerang Vidyalaya. Beyond this I am not imagining my life in some other school, how much ever good it could be.
- College, same story.
- Relatives. How much ever I have a problem with their cribbing at one point in my life, they mean a lot to me. Those fights with your cousins over ice-cream and chocolates, wanting to try a new outfit which your sister got, spending the best time with them in the vacations. I may not like some of them but I don’t want to be in some other family for that. They are My blood relations.
- Then comes the worst- FRIENDS. Not just a relation but something as precious as life. Some people for whom my words are less. Growing up in some different family environment, followed by school and college I would definitely do not have the same friends which I have today. Coincidence could exist possibly with the rage of Facebook today, having some mutual friend (who I may not even talk with) who could have been my bestest bud.
I may not have the same amazing time with my imaginative set of friends. Or on the other hand may be I could’ve a great group partying every night.
But then I don’t really want that.
- And last but not the least Parents. Someone who mean more than my life to me. I will not want to be staying and growing up with someone to whose blood and hard-work I don’t belong and deserve. I feel envious to even think about my share of Love being gone to someone else. My share of care being taken by someone else. No.!! I deserve it, it is mine. Enough said.
Thinking about all this there is a chance of me having a better life or living like a spoilt brat or probably struggling to have a life at all! So I would just say I am thoroughly satisfied with what I have. However thinking about all this was quite fun racing my mind on the run.
nahycc :)
